I still remember the first time I ever heard of the musical Grease.
I was sitting on the grass in first grade day camp and one of my friends said something about a "Grease song." Being a snotty little know-it-all, I corrected her, saying that the correct phrasing would be "Greek song" because Greek is the adjective for Greece. Being an equally snotty little know-it-all, she shot right back, "No, it's GREASE. Like how you GREASE a PAN." Boy, was I peeved.
These fun little drawings are inspired by that fateful July afternoon. I tried to avoid the usual peanut-butter-and-jelly and macaroni-and-cheese comparisons and go for some quirkier pairings. The tattoos and piercings one (in blue below) was extra fun to work on -- I finally learned how to draw a proper bicep! Movin' on up in the world.
